Pancit Canton

I have been very busy the past few days. Busy with my job and my role as a mother. Nevertheless, I was still able to do some cooking for my kids.

I have to cook recipes that can be done in a jiffy. Whipped up this Pancit Canton Guisado in a matter of fifteen minutes :-D

The manner of cooking is very much like that of my stir fried Ramen. :-D

Stir Fried Ramen

(almost done stir fried ramen - just before I tossed the noodles together with the
fresh celery and spring onions picked straight from my garden)

I got hooked on cooking ramen the past few days. Who wouldn't be if you have ten packs of this fresh Japanese Ramen from Colon, Cebu City?

Ingredients:

250 gm pack of Japanese Ramen
your choice of meat/seafoods and other what have yous
garlic, onion, red bell pepper
sayote, carrots, sweet green peas (or any vegetables you like/available)
celery and spring onions
canola oil, soy sauce, salt, ground pepper
Instructions:

  • Place the ramen/noodles in a bowl with hot water for a minute or two. Drain. Set aside.
  • In a wok, heat canola oil, then saute the garlic, onion and red bell pepper.
  • Put the meat/seafood and cook it thoroughly in a little amount of water.
  • Add in the sayote, carrots and sweet green peas. Cover the wok for 2 minutes.
  • Season with a little soy sauce, salt and ground pepper.
  • Add the drained noodles and toss gently. Heat through.
  • Lastly, add in the celery and spring onions and again, toss lightly.
It's done and is now ready for serving.

Kung Hei Fat Choi from my Family to Yours!

My family joins the entire community in wishing everyone "Kung Hei Fat Choi!". I took advantage of this celebration by doing some special dishes relevant to the occasion for my kids and husband.

Recipes of the foodies I cooked will be made available in my upcoming posts. Meanwhile, I am sharing with you, my friends, pictures of what I prepared for this evening!

Bon appetit!

My Sotanghon Guisado

To keep my kids energetic, I always see to it that they always have enough carbo (aside from rice, of course) everyday. This is one of those recipes that I can cook, literally, with eyes closed. :-)

It's very easy to prepare this piece that's why a week won't be complete without this dish being prepared as morning snacks or lunch fare of my kids.

Ingredients :
A pack of sotanghon
pork
shrimps
sayote
carrots
sweet peas
garlic, onion, red bell peppers
soy sauce, olive oil
water, broth
salt and pepper to taste

Cooking this dish is really easy. You just need a wok or pan and a wooden ladle. You just have to put a little of everything while stir frying. I don't have exact measurement of the seasonings since I just rely on my instincts and taste buds while doing this simple but appetizing dish.

This is best served or prepared as baon with calamansi on the side!
